It's been a while since I posted, but all has been quiet at home and nothing to report. Tonight however, we said an emotional goodbye to a flower....
We went to dinner at Cafe Express, sat outside, then walked around Market Square looking at the water fountains and listening to music. The kids came across a planter of flowers and we let them each take one flower. By the time we got back to the car, Jadon and Addison had pretty much destroyed their flowers; plucking off the petals one by one. But Kaylee, had hers in tact and carefully watched over it all the way home in the car. I didn't realize she even had it when we got home, but after a few minutes of rough play I heard screaming.... "My flower is broken...." After much crying, we told the flower we loved it and agreed to throw it in the trash, but the crying did not end. I told Kaylee the flower was in Heaven with lots of other beautiful flowers.... but she insisted, "I love my flower.... it smelled good. It was a good flower." The crying continued for at least 30 minutes as I tried to console her. Finally, her tears were dried when she learned she could once again put on her footie PJs since it was going to be cold outside tonight.
It really was the saddest thing.... I wish I had thought to capture some of it on video....
