The Fevers Continue... Choking SCARE!!!
We've been testing how long Cody can go without Tylenol and Motrin and it appears 4 hours is about the limit before the fever returns. While we are glad we can control the fever and are no longer dealing with 106 degree fevers, we are anxious for answers and resolution. Thus far, the triplets are showing no signs of illness which is good, but also raises more questions.
Another scare.... last night we went to one of our favorite restaurants. The staff knows us well and when we go, we give each of the triplets a quarter so they can buy Mommy & Daddy's dinner. They LOVE giving the waitress their money. They are 3 1/2 years old and virtually every toy on the market is for 3 years and older, so we never thought about choking....
Addison had her quarter in her hand and inadvertently picked up green beans with the same hand and it all went in her mouth. The quarter was lodged in her throat. She was coughing, gagging, crying, reaching into her mouth in a PANIC!!!!! Jerry picked her up and began the Heimlich maneuver. Until we finally got the quarter out. I was terrified to tears and my mind continues to race with "WHAT IFS"... Warning to parents.... kids over three have toys with small parts. Don't let them have those small parts at the dinner table. Addison put that quarter in her mouth by accident... she told us repeatedly it was an accident, but from now on they will pay for our dinner with dollar bills.
Thanks be to God!!! Please keep Cody in your prayers that he is well soon.

My Heart is Sick.... with 106 fever
Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~ Elizabeth Stone
As most of you who follow our blog know, this is my favorite quote. When I had my babies, my heart was divided into four pieces and each of my children holds a piece of my heart. My heart is only complete when I know all of my kids are safe and happy.
Tuesday morning, Cody woke up with a fever. It was a little over 101, so I started the Tylenol and Motrin and watched him. I typically give a fever three days to resolve before calling the pediatrician. His fever went as high as 103.3 over the next two days, but came back down to 101 with medicine. On Thursday, he woke with 101.7, he got his Tylenol and later fell asleep on my lap. He woke from his nap with 104.9. I immediately called the ped. and she advised me to put him into a tepid bath for 10 minutes then call her back with a new temp. His fever went down to 103.3. We scheduled a 2:00 appointment and Cody fell back asleep. When I woke him to get him ready for the appointment his fever was 105.3. We flew to the appointment upon arrival his fever was 105.5. He was checked for the flu and strep because his throat looked raw, but both tests were negative. Rather than send us to a lab for blood tests, the ped wanted to send us to the emergency room. She took another temp which was 106. Now, we couldn't go to the ER until we got his temp down. We put him in a sink behind the nurses station (something which had never been done at their practice) and he screamed for 10 minutes while we poured water over his shoulders. We then left for the ER with 105.5 fever. Upon arrival, we sat about 15 minutes before they took his temp and it had come down to 103.3. By the time they saw us again, his fever was rising again and he was a little oven. They drew blood and retested him for strep. The ER ped was 98% sure it was strep based on this throat. He then got a double whammy dose of Tylenol and Motrin and we were told to sit for an hour and let the meds work. An hour later, no strep, fever was down to 100.3 and they sent us home to manage his fever with an increased dosing schedule of Tylenol and Motrin. NO ANSWERS!!!! They have cultures which will take up to 5 days to grow and potentially provide an answer, but he woke up fever free this morning (with meds).... hallelujah. I don't know why, I am just giving thanks to God. so I am planning to wean him off the meds this afternoon and see how he does. None the less, yesterday was scary, exhausting, and very emotional...... My husband also got an eye opening as to how hard it is at times to be a Mommy as I had to hold Cody down with him screaming & fighting for temp checks, nasal and throat swabs, a cold bath, and blood tests. It really shook him up and he told me he was sorry he didn't appreciate this aspect of motherhood.
UPDATE: It's 7:15 PM and Cody's fever is back up to 102.7....
Here are photos trying to get his fever down the 1st time after I could tell he was feeling better:

What Kids Say
Kaylee was playing with her Raggedy Anne doll. The dolls hair is stitched down on her head. Kaylee was pulling on her hair...
Mawmaw: "Kaylee!! Don't pull on your dolls hair. Your going to pull it all out and she won't have any hair."
Kaylee: "Yea, Like Daddy."
Enjoy a couple park photos... Also, you may have notice our blog has moved in order to remain a little more anonymous in this big Internet world.

Cody
Well, Cody is not yet in "school," so doesn't have a progress report, but I can describe him as super smart (like to sing "twinkle twinkle little star") and he is learning new words daily. He also has a strong will and a big temper, not a huge fan of the word "No" unless he's using it. He loves the Hot Dog Dance song on Mickey Mouse clubhouse and dances. He is a climber, fearless, and adorable. Full of energy and kisses!!!

What Kids Say
Thought I'd start some posts about what the kids say...
This morning I was waking up the girls and they were sleeping hard. I started with Kaylee rubbing her hair and gently getting her to wake up. Addison never moved, so I told Kaylee,
"I'm gonna go sit with Addison a minute. She's not popping out of bed." I went over to Addison's bed and Kaylee sat up and said, "Ok Mom, I'll pop."

Jadon
Continuing with school reviews, "Jadon is a friendly boy who shares well with others. He gets along well with everyone. He enjoys puzzles, playdough and magnets, but we especially love him as Super Jadon when he plays dress-up. Jadon knows all of his colors and shapes and has begun drinking out of a cup without spilling. Ms. Jeannette and I feel blessed to have Jadon in our room this year."
Jadon is my sensitive little man. A frown cast his direction can send him running in tears. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but has started to enjoy irritating the girls from time to time. He forms strong attachments with certain toys like his "bouncy ball" and "squishy heart." I love playing "where is your sugar" with him. Sweet little man.

Addison
From her teachers, "Addison is a playful and energetic little girl. She has made friends with all of her classroom peers and interacts well with everyone. She enjoys playing with the puzzles, play dough, and felt board, but her favorite is outside time. Addison has mastered all of her colors and is rapidly learning her shapes. Ms. Jeannette and I feel blessed to have Addison in our room this year."
At home, Addison is little Miss Independent. She wants to dress herself, potty herself, and do every other imaginable thing herself. She is the 1st to master more complex tasks like puzzles, she is fearless, and is very particular about her stuff and her world. Do it wrong... and look out!!!! But she lights up our world.

Kaylee
I had my 1st parent teacher conference yesterday allowing the teachers to let me know how my 3 year olds are doing in Mom's Day Out and I'm glad to say they are all doing great and meeting all their milestones. Thought I'd dedicate a post to each child over the next few days.
From the teachers, "Kaylee is a loving little socialite who plays with all of her classmates. She loves to talk to and play with everyone. She enjoys playing dress up, putting puzzles together, and playing in the sand, but she especially enjoys going to the, "Baby Chapel." Kaylee knows all of her colors and shapes and is getting better at sharing with her brother. Ms. Jeannette and I feel blessed to have Kaylee in our room this year."
Recently, Kaylee has become my little artist at home. She LOVES to color and will color several times a day for long periods of time. When the others get bored, she is still at it. She gives out random kisses and "I Love Yous." And she is just funny.... Yesterday, she got out of bed still asleep and walked straight into the wall by her bed and said... "Oh, I thought that was the door" and laughed at herself.

A Walk in The Park
The weather has been so rainy lately, I can't stand it!!! But, we did have some sun on Friday, so after naps Jerry and I took the kids over to the park to play. It was cold, but we all had a good time. Rain is suppose to return today... YUCK!!!!
I actually managed to get some pictures of Jadon smiling... every time I pull out the camera he refuses to cooperate and starts hiding from the camera. But I love taking pictures since my subject matter is sooooo beautiful. Boy, I love these babies!!!!!

It's All Relative...
Ok, I know everything is relative so someone with sextuplets would laugh I'm sure, but on Tuesday I took Kaylee and Jadon to "school" and kept Addison at home with Cody. OMG!!!! I was amazed at how much easier it was with just the two kiddos. Addison colored, help fold clothes, we changed sheets on their beds, etc. and Cody tagged along happy as a clam. We went from room to room together doing chores and chatting. I didn't have fighting, and screaming, dilly dallying.... I don't know why, but with each 3 year old you add to the mix it gets significantly harder. We did decide next year to send all 4 kids to "Mom's Day Out" on Tues/Thurs mornings!!!! Two mornings a week I will have 4 hours baby free.... Oh My!!!!!!
Trying on Mom's shoes again....

Our 1st Homework Assignment
The triplets were assigned their 1st homework project last week. We had to decorate hearts for the billboard in the classroom. My initial reaction was uuuggghhh, now I have to make a trip to Walmart for glue, decorations, glitter, etc., but once we started the project we had a GREAT TIME. The kids were sooooo proud of their hearts and the girls were excited to have their picture taken with their hearts... but Jadon hates having his picture taken and began crying when I started taking pictures, hence the sad face. Needless to say, we had sooooooo much fun!!!!
